After the long school holidays Lovestoke was back in the groove with a project on September 17th in Brown Lees, Biddulph. This project had been a while in the planning, and we were pleased to be working alongsidethe Brown Lees & District Residents Association. The residents association sent an application form to us in June 2011 and the team planned the project where over 30 volunteers came along and made light work of the painting, which was completed before the normal project close time of 3pm The project was to paint over 150 meters of metal railings at the childrens play area off Newpool Terrace. The park had recently undergone a fantastic transformation undertaken by SMDC, but there was not enough budget left to put the finishing touch to the renovation and refurbish the railings. We would like to thank Staffordshire Moorlands Distric Council for their assistance by shot blasting and priming the railings before the project day, to ensure that our work would be finished to a high standard. We thank all our volunteers for their support and hard work, and look forward to working in an area near you soon.
